Fighting For A Voice

What You Can Do

** NEVER put yourself in danger, if you are still in an abusive relationship, seek help. You can find local Victim Agencies to assist you with SAFELY leaving the abusive situation that you are in. Please remember, it is not your fault and you are not alone.

Unfortunately, there are some people who experience trauma that is so horrific that it feels as though it may be impossible to overcome the trauma. The effects of the trauma can be so awful that the symptoms persist and often overwhelm the person’s life. The EPIDEMIC is YOU: you are accountable for your own life. The common tendency is denial, and it is TIME to stop fixating on why it shouldn’t have happen; and deal with the fact that it did. Having your story heard, validating what has happen to you is a seriousness part of the healing process.

By signing the petition you are telling the individuals, that YOU voted into office, there needs to be a change in the current domestic abuse policies. It is not relevant if you are a victim, survivor, a family member or a concern taxpayer. Your VOICE matters.

Other ways to accept your abuse and to move forward empowered is to come forward to a Victims service agency, your Human resource Director, Police Department, District Attorney’s Office, Family Court. Take away the abusers control, by (indirectly) saying “I am no longer going to be your victim.” These agencies may also be able to help in assisting you leaving the dangerous relationship safely.

If you have taken all these steps and are out of an abusive situation and have been mistreated by the system, take the time to share your story on here; As well as, at many of these agencies listed below. Some may not be able to help you, but may have a different direction for you to go, to find some personal satisfaction. The more these agencies receive letters from victims, family members, or concern taxpayers, the more interest these agencies will take in our community.
